Well for Life Board Members
Well for Life is a charity that aims to unconditionally provide emotional and practical support to those living with or affected by HIV in Derby and Derbyshire. It aims to support and promote the physical, mental and emotional wellbeing of people, their families and carers by offering a bespoke service. The charity supports people from all different cultures and backgrounds including BAME groups, hard-to-reach groups and asylum seekers with a non-judgemental approach.
Well for Life is seeking proactive Trustees to join the current Board of Trustees to help support the charity and its functions moving forward. They require the following as essential:
- Commitment
- Good listener
- Happy disposition
- Good social skills.
Full role description available on request. For more information please call 01332 204020 or email info@wflderby.org
Derbyshire Youth Development Board Members
The Derbyshire Youth Development Board is a group of 16-24 year olds with lived experience of learning disabilities and/or autism spectrum conditions, meeting every 4-6 weeks, to discuss subjects such as education and support systems and hopefully affect positive change, with both young people and parents/carers welcome. The meetings will take place in Chesterfield, and they are happy to provide transport to and from if needed.
- You will have group discussions focusing on education and employment, what works and what does not. Your lived experience will help to identify problems in the system that need solving. The meetings will also be an opportunity for you to get to know fellow young people with similar values and goals and improve your confidence with socialising and group discussions.
- You will all fill out a Skills Portfolio over the course of the Board meetings. This will be a personal document used to record certificates, personal development plans, reflective activities, testimonials and references, badges, and more. This is a useful diary you can take to future employers to show off the skills you have developed and experiences you have been involved in.
For more information you can download the flyer or watch a YouTube video about the Board. For any other queries, email kai.partington@debp.org
