The Government has reminded eligible households to ensure they are named on their electricity bill to automatically receive the £150 Warm Home Discount this winter.
Eligibility now includes those receiving one of the following means-tested benefits:
- housing benefit
- income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
- income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA)
- income support
- pension credit (Guarantee Credit and Savings Credit)
- universal credit
Households using pre-payment meters must also ensure their account is registered in their name.
This initiative expands the discount to an additional 2.7 million households.
The qualifying date for automatic eligibility is Sunday, 24 August 2025. If not automatically matched, households will receive a letter later in the year or must contact the helpline by January 2026.
